Through meditation, as you relax you let go of blockages; this enables the energy to flow through you more freely. This Source energy is also light and carries wisdom. Even though you may not have intended to go on a spiritual journey, you will find that you will grow and mature as you allow more to flow through you.

Here is a method which can helped you meditate and feel the energy around and through you:
Self-Engerising Meditation
Aim to be as relaxed as possible. Wear loose clothing and sit as comfortable as possible.
As you may be sitting for long, you may wish to find something to lean your back on. There is no need to have crossed legs, especially if you get cramp easily, but make sure you have a straight back to allow the energy to flow down you without any blockages.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, and exhale, each time you exhale feel all the stress, or tightness, thoughts, noise, tiredness leave your body.
Open your crown chakra by imagine a purple lotus just above your head and imagine the petals slowly opening, until the lotus is fully bloomed and keep taking deep breathes.
Let yourself and your body become more relaxed from the top down, relax your shoulders and your arms. Relax your body and your legs and then your feet and feel the calmness around you.
Keep this rhythmic breathing going as you imagine there is white light like a water fountain falling onto your head, gently overflowing over your shoulders and down your back and front.
Imagine the light flowing continually down gently over your thighs and knees and over your legs to your toes until you are completely covered.
Imagine the light flowing continually along your arms and into your hands, imagine it getting brighter in your hands and out your fingers.
Now imagine as the white light comes out of your toes it turns up in a circular movement , up to your head and down your body’s again, so you have a constant flow of energy going round you , surrounding you in love and peace.
Imagine the white light surround you and also flowing down inside of you. As you breath in, feel the energy fill your stomach near your navel. Imagine the white light filling your stomach. This is where you store your energy.
Keep imagining the white light flowing down into your stomach and a ball of light in your stomach getting bigger and bigger , brighter and brighter each time you breath in.
Just before you finish inhaling, feel some of the energy raise up and as you exhale feel the love coming out of your heart spreading out to all those around you.
All the while keep imagining the light continually flowing down over you and in you, to your finger tips and down over your legs to your toes.
Now, if you have an area which you think needs healing, imagine the white light flowing to that area. Imagine the area being surrounded by white light and the light getting bigger and brighter.
Keep imagining the flow of white light to this area or flowing down your body for as long as you like.
When you have finishes take a few deep breaths. Then thank the Universe, your guides, God or all of three.
You can visualise the energy flowing over you and in you as you breathe anywhere, anytime; when you are travelling, walking down the street etc. so you have a constant flow of energy flowing through you. Your aim is so that becomes a sub-conscious action, as natural as breathing. It is a way of living rather than just a moment of time taken out to practice.

Grounding
When you finishing meditation some of you may feel a bit light headed. You can just enjoy this or ground yourself by having some dark chocolate or coffee, as they have a strong aroma and taste.
